The Abruzzo coast is particularly unique and characterized by the presence of historical fishing machines fixed to the rock, with a light but solid architecture, able to withstand the weight of the fishing net and the stress of sea storms. These fishing machines on stilts are the so-called Trabocchi, from which the stretch of coastline takes the name "Costa dei Trabocchi" which extends between Vasto and San Vito Chietino.
